Operations & Maintenance
To ensure that Roads are maintained in good conditions, the Authorities engages concessionaires to maintain the roads in desired conditions. The Authorities also engages Independent Engineer / Authority Engineer to act as the representative of the Authority and ensure that the Objectives are met. In the financial year 2015-16, NHAI has made budgetary provisions of Rs. 1300 crores of Grants towards maintenance and repair of National Highways. The allocation of Rs. 2200 crores has been made as on January 2016 for maintenance of National Highways during 2015 - 16 for States / Union Territories.
